Aphorisms, temp.

Since my own forum has - hopefully only temporarily - melted down, due to hardware failures on its host's systems, I'd like to start this thread as a notepad for insights I usually lay down over there. Feel free to comment :)

Journalists call themselves 'Hacks'; they warp what they observe, to reflect how they think it should be, and are completely unaware that they are doing so.

Existence does not require our participation; we may exist, or not, meanwhile existence itself has no need of us.

Intellect's greatest achievement is: "I side-with those who I agree with, and oppose those I disagree with".

What does any of this have to do with Reality?
Like a puny human's puny intellect has anything to do with anything, anyway?
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so fatal.

One look at a schoolteacher is enough to inform any live student that it is ridiculous to want to please that teacher.
Yet that is what students try to do.
While knowing, intuitively, that a teacher is one who knows many things about things that do not matter, while simultaneously knowing nothing about things that do matter.

Once sucked into trying to please teacher, one is almost certainly doomed to become just like teacher.

Thus do humans surrender their lives for the dubious reward of insanity.
